See below for an explanation of each curriculum!

GamePlan is an Orff-based curriculum that uses age-appropriate lessons and incorporates singing, saying, moving, and playing into all lessons.

Recorder Karate

Recorder Karate is a curriculum for learning recorder.  The curriculum includes multiple songs, each a bit more challenging/introducing a new concept and corresponding with a color belt.  Students start with white belt and progress through the songs until they get the black belt.  As the children master/pass a song, they earn their belt and move on to the next.

Purposeful Pathways is a new curriculum that presents a lesson, and then depending on what concept you are trying to teach (movement, improvisation, singing on pitch, etc.), it shows what elements of the activity can be used to put emphasis on that particular concept.

The "Link Up" program is what our 4th graders participate in each year.  The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra is the ensemble in our area that participates in this program, and each year in March our 4th graders take a field trip to Hill Auditorium and join about 3,000 students from the area to not only watch/listen to the orchestra, but also get a chance to sing along and play their recorder along with the orchestra as well!

ETM stands for Education Through Music.  This is a curriculum that elementary classroom teachers use in addition to music teacher.  It uses a variety of movement activities in addition to singing to teach/emphasize/build multiple concepts, and also the development of children.

Musicplay Online

Musicplay Online is a resource created by a fantastic master teacher, Denise Gagne.  The curriculum is online, and in addition to lessons is accessible to students to create, learn, etc.  Especially in this virtual world, Musicplay Online provides a ton of activities for our students.

The Orff-Schulwerk volumes and supplemental materials offer an endless amount of songs, poems, body percussion, rhythms, barred instruments arrangments, etc.  They are a treasure trove that so many Orff teachers can derive lessons from.
